Idaho Foodbank Community Impact

IMG_3188.JPG

In 2017 The Idaho Foodbank made a huge impact in our community by distributing over 15.5 million meals state wide. With community partners like The Boise Co-op, we made an effort to solve hunger in Idaho. About 1 in 7 Idahoans are food insecure, meaning more than 230,000 live at risk of hunger. Through sponsorship from Hunger Action Month and generous donations, the Boise Co-op raised a total of $26,142 in the past seven years, and a total of 12,540lbs of food. These donations will enable us to continue to feed families in need. One meal is equivalent to 1.2 lbs of food (determined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture based on the total U.S. food consumption). Every dollar donated produces five meals.
