The Vampire Slayer Cheese

Are you interested in repelling toothy Transylvanian Counts while simultaneously snacking on a scrumptious cheese? Well, read on!

As the last vestiges of second summer fade into autumn, those familiar cravings for warm, spicy comfort food start to assert themselves. If you’re looking for something to really sink your teeth into (sorry not sorry!) check out Face Rock Creamery’s Vampire Slayer.

Always a popular choice in our Cheese Department, this Oregon-made aged cheddar is positively LOADED with tangy garlic. It’s savory yet smooth, and a great centerpiece to a fall-themed cheese plate, surrounded by dried apricots, herbed crackers, and (of course!) toasted pumpkin seeds. It’s also a delicious way to level up your lasagna—either by layering inside or liberally shredding it on top and browning it under the broiler.

It’s also a really excellent sandwich cheese, cold or grilled. Serve it with Roasted Red Pepper-Tomato Soup and whole-grain crackers, and don’t forget the dill pickle!

Classic autumn brews like Hefeweizen, hop-heavy ales and hard apple cider are perfect to serve with Vampire Slayer. Wine lovers should pair it with bright and citrusy varieties, as garlic will make tannins taste bitter. Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Chianti, and Sangiovese are all excellent accompaniments that will bring out the best of this autumnal treat.

With All Hallow’s Eve fast approaching, we thought it best for everyone to put Vampire Slayer on sale. Get it for just $5.99 from October 13-November 2!
