How to Run for the Board
The deadline to apply for the 2024 election is Friday, July 12, 2024
Please fill out the application form at the bottom of this page to be considered for a nomination.
NOTE: Members may also nominate themselves for a seat on the Board by submitting a petition signed by one hundred and twenty five (125) members and submitted to the Boise Co-op at least seventy-five days before the date of the annual meeting (see Bylaws, Section 4.3). Petitions must be submitted by the close of business on July 12, 2024 to be eligible. Petitioners must use the Boise Co-op Board of Directors Petition Form found here. While nomination by petition is acceptable, the Nominations and Election Committee strongly encourages interested members to fulfill the endorsement requirements, as this is the best way to ensure potential Board Directors fully understand the work and responsibilities of the Board.
Election Process: The Boise Co-op will promote the upcoming election and educate members about the candidates’ qualifications (for example, through Candidates Statements published in the Boise Co-op website). The voting period begins Thursday, August 15 at 7:00 am, and ends Wednesday, September 18 at 11:59 pm. Once the ballots are counted, the four candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be given the available Board seats. Terms of Directors shall begin at the first meeting of the Board after the annual meeting in accordance with the Bylaws, Section 4.3. Terms for Directors may range from one to three years as needed to ensure no more than three terms are scheduled to expire every year.
