A Pumpkin for the Penguin

In November this year, we found ourselves with quite a few extra pumpkins on our hands. Some of these were getting a little too wrinkly to sell; one was a 147 lb pumpkin that we thought would be hard to fit into an oven! So we called our friends at ZooBoise to see if the animals had an appetite for pumpkin. Do they ever!

Perseus the porcupine, Andy the Alexandrine parakeet, Ruby the striped skunk, and Jimmy the Magellanic penguin are just some of the pumpkin fans. There was even some squash in the fire-bellied toad tank! Check out the photos below.
