Happy Holidays, Co-Owners!

We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday! November was a busy month for the Co-op, with the Village store having their first $100,000 day during their anniversary sale! WOO HOO! This definitely would not have been possible without the help and dedication of the many phenomenal team members we have here!

At the end of November, we held our first (of many to come) “mix and mingle” event in the Uncorked! Wine Bar, which was a great success! These events allow for Co-Owners to come meet the Board of Directors. They can ask questions, give suggestions, and learn more about what the Board does and is doing with and for the Co-op, all while eating some amazing Co-op kitchen made foods paired with some great wines.

We are extremely excited to announce that we have selected Michelle Andersen as the Co-op's new CEO. Michelle has been a Co-op member and shopper for the last 20 years and resides in the North End. She knows us, loves us, and is excited to join the team! Her first day on the job will be January 14th.

With strengths in leadership and strategy, Michelle brings to us a strong background in building leadership teams, developing and delivering brand experience, and leading vision and communication. Most recently, she worked as the head of branding and operations for a startup focused on building fast-casual restaurants in Portland that believes in serving local, organic, and sustainable food. Michelle also has over 20 years of experience working with Starbucks in multiple roles. Her last position at Starbucks was as the Regional Director of the Mountain West where she oversaw a team of 2,000 employees, 100 stores, and over $150 million dollars in annual sales. Michelle has a well-rounded leadership background and a track record of success in developing culture and high-performing teams. We look forward to having her on board with us as CEO!

Already now, at the closing of December, we’ve seen the first large snowfall of the season, and everyone seems to be in excited preparation for their respective New Year’s celebrations... we know we are! Be sure to pop into the Wine Shop for one of the best selections of wine in the Northwest! The team really knows their stuff, and are always more than happy to help you find the right wine for whatever it is that you are serving at your table, or just popping the cork for your midnight champagne toast!
