Dawson Taylor Donates with Dream Blend
Your sips can make a difference!
Local Coffee Roaster Dawson Taylor is making a big impact with their new Dream Ride Blend coffee. With every pound purchased, they will donate 50¢ to a local charity. To kick off the program, they selected the Boise Bicycle Project to be the first recipient. The Boise Bicycle Project is an important advocate for bike safety and education in the Treasure Valley. Below is a great story from the kids bikes they fix up and donate.
Each year Boise Bicycle Project volunteers and mechanics fix and distribute over 600 used bicycles to children throughout the Treasure Valley. These children are referred from countless other nonprofits, schools, and charitable organizations. For many kids, it is their very first bike. In order to receive a bicycle, the child must first draw a picture or write a story about their "dream" bicycle. We use those pictures and stories to hand pick each and every bike. Here is one of those stories:
"I would like to have a bike to ride. I do not have one to ride. My cousin has a bike he rides but I can not go with him because I do not have one. My Nanna is raising me and doing all she can but she do not have money for a bike. I have coins I have saved and would give them to help. All of my friends ride bikes and I cannot go and feel sad. I would be so happy to have a bike. I do not care about color. I would be thankful just to have one. That is all I want for Christmas. Thank you Andrew M."
