Apple Crisp

Chef Jin shows us how to make the best apple crisp you’ll ever try! This is his go-to and a Co-op favorite recipe.  Perfect homestyle comfort food that’s good for the soul on a chilly fall day. The best part about this dish is that cooks of all skill levels can make this dessert come to life!

Ingredients

  • 6 Apples (peeled and chopped)

  • 2 Tablespoons White Sugar

  • 1 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Juice

  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 3/4 Cup Happy Day Oats

  • 3/4 Cup Flour

  • 1/2 Cup Cold Butter

  • Pinch of Salt

Directions

Add apple, white sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, lemon juice - toss and combine and place into the dish.

In a separate bowl, add the topping (crisp). This includes brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and diced cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or the back of a fork and push and twist until you have pea-sized crumbs. Spread the crisp evenly over the apples and bake for 40 - 50 minutes at 350º or until it becomes GBD (golden, brown, and delicious) and bubbly.
