2013 Avinyó Brut Reserva, $16.99

Call it due diligence. Call it taking a hit for the team. Every now and then, here at the wine shop, we are required to drink a bottle of wine just to see if it is good enough for the likes of you, our valued customer. I did it this month. The wine in question is a returning friend, Avinyo's 2013 Cava (new vintage here). Good news bubble fans, another wonderful selection for the upcoming bubble season (isn't that every season!?). Crisp, clean and refreshing, with a creamy, fruit driven body that carries lime, lemon, and even a bit of tangerine. Todo bien with a lime/garlic dressed salad with dried blueberries, dried cranberries, topped with pine nut crusted broiled trout. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
