It's goodbye Oregon and hello Gem State. June is Idaho Wine Month, and we're kicking things off with Split Rail, one of the new breed of urban wineries springing up in Garden City. As you look over the names of the wines, you can see that winemaker Jed Glavin marches to the beat of a different drum. His goal is to make great wines without all the off-putting pretension. Split Rail's Casey-Lea-Ebright will be in the shop to pour samples of, and talk about their wines. Here's the line-up:
- Exploding Mirror White
- Dry Rosé
- Swamp Donkey Red
- Laser Fox Cinsault
- The Horned Beast Syrah-Grenache-Mourvedre
June 1 is the Co-op's big First Friday Sale, but all six wines will be 15% off both days of the tasting.
