2013 Cotes De Ciel Counoise, $23.00
If you haven't had a Counoise, you've missed out on one of the most delicious wine experiences you can have. One of the thirteen grape varieties allowed in Châteauneuf du Pape, It has aromas of black cherries, earthy notes and just a hint pepper. The mouth reinforces the black cherry theme, but in a subtler way than expected. Berries and even the slightest hint of stone fruits join the mid-palate with subtle hints of cocoa on the finish.  The tannins are soft, yet the wine fills the mouth. Well balanced, with a long finish. Only 92 Cases produced.
